How to gain confidence at the gym?
Does it feel a bit scary to go to the gym as a beginner? Here’s a guide for you if you want to feel better both outside and inside the gym and experience a sense of accomplishment!
Confidence can also be trained
You can start by going to a gym and noticing which thoughts come up so that you can handle them in the right way. If negative thoughts about your surroundings arise, it's completely normal; you may feel a bit out of place at the beginning. Don’t let these thoughts take over because everyone has been where you are right now, and that feeling will pass. Once you get into your workout routine, your confidence will grow because exercising gives you a good feeling. Remember, practice makes perfect!
Seek information
It might be wise to look up which exercises are suitable for your body and how to perform them correctly. With this knowledge, you can be sure that you're doing what you should and doing it right.
Another solution is to train with a personal trainer. A PT helps you perform exercises correctly and has good knowledge of different workouts and how to adapt them to your body and strength.
Group training can also provide a sense of security, with an instructor guiding you and being part of a group all doing the same activities. It's easier to feel confident when you can immerse yourself in the exercises and find your rhythm.
Create a detailed workout program; as a beginner, it’s advisable to get help from someone knowledgeable in fitness or from the internet, which has many excellent articles about training for beginners.

When you feel ready, you can gradually increase your training with weights, extra resistance with bands, or additional workout sessions.
Set goals
It might be easier to start with home workouts first to find your inner strength. Create a detailed workout plan here as well; if you're unsure about any exercises, look them up, as there are plenty of great instructional videos on YouTube, for example.
Set realistic goals and keep them in mind; feel free to write them down so that you can refer to them during times when you aren’t feeling motivated, and find that original inspiration to continue working towards a healthy body! How to run correctly?
